Caorle Wonderland - Christmas in Caorle
Who ever said that Caorle is only worth visiting in summer? Our hamlet is always bustling thanks to the many events we organise year round. There are many exciting initiatives, even for the locals!
For example “Caorle Wonderland”, a selection of events which make the Christmas atmosphere even more magical: Father Christmas' village with creative labs for the younger ones, the Christmas markets in the historic centre, the ice-skating rink, concerts and performances, then the Christmas mini-marathon called “Spetame che rivo” (in Venetian "wait for me, I'm coming!"), a non-competitive foot race which athletes and enthusiasts of all ages take part in.
On the night of Christmas Eve, shortly before midnight, do not miss out on the beautiful torchlight procession called Natale sul Mare - Christmas on the Sea, during which scuba-divers arriving from the water carry the statue of Baby Jesus to the central altar of the Cathedral, thus officially inaugurating the Christmas celebrations!
These celebrations culminate with the New Year's Eve concert in the square, with music, entertainment and dancing, and with the fireworks near the Shrine of Our Lady of the Angel and with the New Year's Day Dip in the sea... what better way to start off the year?!
Then, as we all know, it is time for the Epiphany (6th January), which brings all the festivities to a close...
